Former employee accused of stealing over $50K from Indiana Co. veterinary hospital
Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police in Indiana County have filed charges against a Graceton woman who is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an area veterinary practice where she was formerly employed.
Troopers say in February, the owner of Frazer Veterinary Hospital claimed that one of his former employees had allegedly stolen money from his practice.
Upon further investigation, police say the former employee was identified as 46-year-old Michelle Bowman.
Police say investigators discovered that Bowman had allegedly stole more than $50,000 by deleting electronic invoices and taking money out of the business' register.
She is accused of committing the thefts from 2013 to 2022.
Last week, troopers say Bowman was charged with felony counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds Received.
She was arraigned to the Indiana County Jail but has since posted bond.
